NEWGY Robo-Pong 2050 Table Tennis Robot
To me these are great features which makes the robot throw the ball as if it was a real player. You have complete control over how you can program the robot to give you the best practice. For example, you can change the program to send, top spin, side spin, back spin on both left and right and a combination of spins.
You can also change what level of speed you want the ball to be thrown at you and where you want that ball on the table. (placement)
The Robot can be programmed in a variety of shots: push, chop, serve, counter, lob ball and fast loop. One thing I noticed is that the Head of the Robot can be adjusted: from low (serves) to high (lobs). Another great feature of the Digital controls is that it comes in different languages, so you anyone in different counties can learn to use the robot.
The net catcher is an excellent feature that provide that collects the balls for you in a net and feeds the balls back to the robot that allows for a repetitive play for you to enjoy a solid workout andĀ practice session. What is interesting is that you can use the Robo-Pong in different modes to suit your needs and train specific strokes and workouts.
The 2050 Robot Has Four Different Modes:
- Normal mode
- Random mode
- Drill mode
- PC Mode
1. Normal mode
In normal mode, you can program the robot to shoot out precise placement balls, meaning you can practice specific shots, like the backhand topspin or forehand drive. or an exercise that you want to practice, like moving from side to side to practice your leg work.
2. Oscillation mode
This has 21 different options, which has pre-programmed random exercises. This mode will shoot balls out at you randomly, which simulates playing in a match game. You will have no idea where the ball is going to be placed, what speed or spin that the robot will put on the ball. It’s very exciting!
3. Drill Mode
This is where the Robo-Pong 2050 comes in to its own. It becomes the most flexible of all robots, with the ability to give you the best training around.
It has 64 different programs for you to challenge yourself against. You can set the drill level for either competitive training, working out or even just set it up for a quick practice session. The main things you can work out are:
- Footwork
- Strokes
- Transitions
Transitions are important, because in a real game you will need to move around and simulate the level of un-predictability thet you get in a match. You can change the speed of the drills to suit your current skill level and progress to more difficult levels as you get better over time.
4. PC Mode
The PC mode allows you the option to program your own exercises and share them with friends who also have a Robo-Pong 2050. Digital technology is fantastic and this is a great way to help friends improve and get better.
The Robo-Pong 2050 is designed to fit all standard indoor and outdoor ping pong tables as well as conversion top tables. It’s very easy to set up, fold away and it’s compact enough for easy storage. Most home-based table tennis players require that theirĀ ping pong tablesĀ along with their robots need to be put away in to storage to save space. This really helps when you don’t have the space to leave it set up on the table.
